Fortanix Delivers Comprehensive Data Security as a Service
Fortanix® Inc., the data-first multicloud security company, today announced the availability of its comprehensive Data Security Manager (DSM) solution as a cloud-delivered service. DSM SaaS provides the complete proven capabilities of the Fortanix on-premises solution and is the first and only multicloud data security solution certified to the rigorous FIPS 140-2 Level 3 standard. Available immediately on demand, DSM SaaS is the fastest and easiest path for organizations to achieve the highest levels of data security for public cloud, SaaS, hybrid cloud, and on-premises applications.
Many organizations struggle with the cost, complexity, and operational demands of their existing data security infrastructure. Legacy stand-alone point solutions were never designed for cloud-first environments and DevOps application lifecycles. DSM SaaS consolidates the many elements of data security into a single cloud-delivered service, including key management, tokenization, cloud key management, secrets management, encryption and HSM services, without the burden of managing infrastructure and ongoing software releases. “Pay-as-you-grow” pricing provides a cost-effective starting point for any data security use case. A complete set of APIs enables easy integration with new and existing applications.
“It’s a dangerous world for data, and many organizations just don’t have the time or skilled staff required to deploy new data security solutions,” said Ambuj Kumar, CEO and co-founder of Fortanix. “With DSM SaaS, customer can now get complete access to the exact data security that they need literally within minutes, and then stay secure as their needs grow and change.”
DSM SaaS provides the highest level of security, often exceeding what organizations have implemented in their own environment. Services run on FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified Fortanix FX2200 appliances that act as both an HSM and an application server. In addition to providing a hardware root of trust, the FX 2200 uses Intel Software Guard Extension (SGX®) technology to provide complete cryptographic separation between DSM SaaS users. At no time do Fortanix DSM SaaS administrators have access to keys or data processed by customers in their DSM SaaS account. Customers can also continue to use keys from legacy HSMs using the unique HSM Gateway capability.
DSM SaaS provides maximum availability and disaster tolerance using the global network and infrastructure of Equinix, the worlds’ digital infrastructure company. The service currently operates from 15 data centers around the world, allowing customers to select the global footprint that best matches their requirements. Included in DSM SaaS is the SmartKey® service offering, which will be managed and delivered by Fortanix within Equinix data centers going forward.
